February 03 โSilakbo, the official school publication of South East Asian Institute of Technology Inc. (SEAIT), successfully launched its first official website, developed by three IT students from the College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) as their capstone project.

Silakbo Publication has served as the institution's official information platform since 2018, delivering campus updates, news, literary pieces, sports coverage, and other student-written content through print materials and social media.
After years of maintaining both offline and online presence, Silakbo has now established its first official websiteโa permanent digital database for all articles. This achievement ensures continuous online access to stories beyond physical copies, providing advanced multimedia content accessible to the entire SEAIT community and beyond.
"We believe this website marks the beginning of a transformative digital legacy for the Publicationโenabling our student journalists to continuously channel their enthusiasm for public service into institutional pride." โ Mr. Bullos, Silakbo Publication Adviser

Henz Augie C. Lebrilla, Jason E. Misal, and John Kenneth M. Orricaโfourth-year CICT studentsโtitled their capstone "Student Publication Information System." They designed it to improve Silakbo's content delivery after observing operational challenges and a clear digital gap.
"While Silakbo produces strong journalism, there wasn't a single, permanent place online where all its work could live. Much content was scattered across social media or limited to physical copies that could easily be lost. This showed the need for a dedicated platform the publication truly ownsโone where articles won't disappear under social media algorithms," Orrica said.
These student innovators transformed an urgent gap into a lasting digital platformโa permanent home for Silakbo's journalism that ensures today's narratives will inspire tomorrow's stories.

What began as a classroom capstone project has become an institutional Milestone. This initiative represents not just the Publication's achievement but a legacy for the entire SEAIT community, proving the connection between technical innovation and communication needs.
"The ultimate goal is legacy. We want this website to become the 'Digital Memory' of the campus. For readers, it's easier access to truth and stories. For the campus community, it's a professional, reliable source reflecting SEAIT's standards," Orrica added.
From coding to launching, these student developers exemplify academic rigor meeting practical vision. Silakbo now serves as SEAIT's digital cornerstoneโpreserving factual integrity, promoting relevant information, and proving today's academic project forges tomorrow's legacy.
The Silakbo Publication staff acknowledge the essential guidance provided by Sir Reginald S. Prudente, MIT, and Sir Vincent Roi Malubag for the significant time and effort they invested in supporting the project throughout its development.
